We are delighted to announce our 2010 annual conference and AGM. Young people access the media for health information, and there is a general concern about the negative portrayal of young people’s health issues in the media. As professionals working in the young people’s health field, how should we respond?
Bringing professionals together with key media players including the BBC and ITV, and adolescent health specialist and media expert Michael Rich (Harvard University), as well as providers of health information such as NHS Choices, the conference will provide advice, practical support and important networking opportunities which will enable you to:
· Understand how young people use the media for health information
· Use the media to effectively promote your services to young people
· Use the media to convey positive health messages to young people
The event will bring together a group of young people, and will showcase work by young people to convey positive messages through the media – including work on alcohol policy, eating disorders and the wellbeing of Black and Minority Ethnic young people.
