Secondary curriculum PSHE support roles

This is a chance to play your part in supporting the introduction and implementation of the
new Secondary Curriculum.  CfBT Education Trust, working with a group of subject associations, has been contracted by the DfES to develop subject specific support for implementation of the new Secondary Curriculum.

National subject leadership support roles

The PSHE Subject Association will not be appointing one individual subject lead. Rather the association is seeking to draw upon the breadth of existing PSHE experience and to appoint a small team of experienced PSHE and economic education practitioners. They will have excellent writing and communication skills and be able to work to tight deadlines.

The writing team will:

-contribute to the writing and review of PSHE and/ or Economic education subject specific support material
- lead in the sharing of these materials with PSHE subject leaders in schools at national and/or regional level

The writing team will report to and work closely with the PSHE Subject Association staff. The period of writing will be between August-November 2007. The number of working days is likely to be about 10 per writer, but this is yet to be finalised.

Regional Subject Adviser posts

Working under the direction of the PSHE Subject Association you will support the development of PSHE and Economic Education materials to help with the implementation of the new secondary curriculum. You will work with a team of Regional Subject Advisers and school PSHE subject leaders in your region to ensure that the PSHE economic education support materials are shared effectively with and within schools.

At this stage expressions of interest are invited. Please send a concise CV with relevant experience and a brief covering letter outlining your interest and suitability by 20th July to:
