Secondary SEAL

Plans are now under way for the roll out of secondary SEAL programme (formerly known as SEBS).

The timetable is as follows:

From now to July 2007 Local Authorities are being asked to start planning the use of secondary SEAL, so that its implementation is supported intensively in a selected number of local secondary schools. The idea is that these schools will have the capacity and enthusiasm to implement SEAL effectively across the school and be prepared to share their learning with others. It is recommended that schools should work together with other secondary and primary schools. All LAs should have a plan and a SEAL strategic lead from
September 2007, and well before then have identified and started working with the secondary school (s).

May 2007 Secondary SEAL materials available and placed on website.

September 2007 secondary schools begin to implement SEAL

It is anticipated that about 80% of primary schools will be introduced to SEAL by July 2008.
