Step into the NHS

A new initiative, Step into the NHS, has been launched by NHS Careers.

It’s designed to engage young people with the surprising number and breadth of jobs in the NHS – hundreds of careers as anything from a clinical psychologist to a chef – and to stimulate them to think about ways in which their abilities and skills could have a positive impact on the future of the NHS.

Step into the NHS has links to resources designed to be used by teachers, careers advisors, parents, carers, or anyone else involved in helping young people make the important choices and decisions that will impact on the rest of their lives.  Further resources on this site will be launched in September 2007.

Step into the NHS includes a website http://www.stepintothenhs.nhs.uk/, helpline (0845 60 60 655), and a programme that will allow a young person to get continuing support at times when they are making important decisions about their futures.
