Quality Standards for Young Peoples Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) DCSF [pdf]
From April 2008 responsibility for commissioning information advice and guidance services for young people will be devolved from Connexions partnerships to Local Authorities in England. These standards have been written to support the development of high quality and impartial information advice and guidance.

Institute of Career Guidance
The Institute of Career Guidance is the largest professional association for guidance practitioners in the UK


NACP-National Association of Connexions Partnerships
NACP was founded in 2003 to serve as the umbrella organisation for England's 47 Connexions Partnerships.
 

Connexions Direct
Offers advice on education, careers, housing, money, health and relationships for 13-19 year olds in the UK

 

Providers of Information,Advice & Guidance (IAG) services offer support and training for careers education.

Your local IAG provider will be the local authority itself, or a Connexions service or career guidance company commissioned to provide services by the local authority. They should have advisers for careers education and the personal advisers working in your schools should know how to contact them.

Also, the Association for Careers Education and Guidance http://www.aceg.org.uk/ has a network of regional contacts who can offer support to teachers and others involved in careers education.
