Summary: Free interactive, games-based resource for 11–16s to deliver key learning objectives for Economic and Financial well-being RaceDay for Schools uses the context of owning a horse and managing a race course to deliver some key educational principles particularly around Enterprise, Work-Related Learning and PSHE. The activities are all targeted at the learning requirements of 11-16 year olds. Students get a unique insight into the world of horse racing as they learn business and enterprise skills such as marketing, decision-making, leadership and financial capability. Tasks are of real world relevance such as designing the most efficient race course, creating an attractive hospitality package and managing their budget. It’s a flexible resource that can be dipped in and out of or completed in its entirety. In the Training Zone students develop their skills and knowledge with quizzes, case studies, and animated games. They can then proceed to the ‘Race Day game’ where they actually see the impact of their decisions in a live race day culminating in all the excitement of the race itself. Registration is free and enables you to use all the online activities including: - A day in the life of a marketing & hospitality executive: links with Enterprise, Business Studies and WRL. - The costs of owning a racehorse: links with PSHE Education, Enterprise, Business Studies and Maths. - What makes a good racecourse: links with Enterprise, Business Studies and Maths. - The Raceday game: a fantastic interactive simulation in which students directly apply the knowledge they have developed in Enterprise education.
