Growing and Changing — Home learning lessons on puberty, KS2-3
New Home-learning lessons to help pupils to identify and manage the physical and emotional changes that may happen during puberty, including menstruation and wet dreams.
These lessons will help pupils to: identify and challenge myths around puberty; consider the importance of hygiene routines, and how these may be developed upon during this time; consider how to start a conversation with someone such as a friend or parent in order to help them manage challenges and changes.
We strongly advise parents and carers to read our Guide for parents and carers educating children at home before teaching these lessons — to help ensure a safe and effective learning environment for young people learning from home.
If you are teaching this topic in a classroom setting, please use our comprehensive Medway Public Health Directorate relationships and sex education schemes of work for key stages 1-3.
These lessons form part of our range of materials to support pupils learning at home during the coronavirus school closures. Visit www.pshe-association.org.uk/C-HUB for more lessons and guidance.
