LifeSkills created with Barclays
LifeSkills, created with Barclays, is a programme targeted at students aged 11-19 which aims to help teachers to support employability and careers delivery through PSHE education.
The programme provides educators with more than 50 hours of free curriculum linked employability resources - including videos, activities and lesson plans as well as interactive tools for young people.
Specific links to the PSHE Association Programme of Study for Key Stages 3 and 4 include:
- how to make informed choices and be enterprising and ambitious
- how to develop employability, team working and leadership skills and develop flexibility and resilience
- how personal financial choices can affect oneself and others.
PSHE Association Subject Specialist Karen Summers said:
“This high quality resource provides a series of lessons and materials for Key Stages 3, 4 and 5 students to help develop their future employability in terms of work, people, and money skills. The structured lesson format incorporates the key principles of effective PSHE teaching and learning. Each lesson plan provides a variety of opportunities for pupils to discuss and reflect upon different areas of their personal development in relation to the workplace. This extensive resource would make an excellent contribution to a school’s planned PSHE education programme."
