NSPCC Underwear Rule resources
Key Stage 1 and 2 resources on keeping safe using the NSPCC Underwear Rule.
The NSPCC Underwear Rule teaching resources support practitioners to deliver messages to pupils that help keep them safe from harm and abuse.
The resource - aimed primarily at pupils aged 5-9 – includes a lesson plan, pupil activity resources, teacher guidance and more. Using the acrostic message PANTS, the resource aims to deliver the key messages that:
- Privates are private
- Always remember your body belongs to you
- No means no
- Talk about secrets that upset you
- Speak up, someone can help
Download the Underwear Rule resource free from the NSPCC website.
PSHE Association Subject Specialist, Karen Summers says:
“These age-appropriate materials enable teachers to address issues such as the difference between appropriate and inappropriate touch, and what parts of the body are private as well as how pupils can seek help from people they can trust. This downloadable resource will effectively support teachers to teach pupils about personal safety skills as part of high quality PSHE provision.”
