Understanding PSHE education’s role in preventing and challenging extremism

Funded by the Building a Stronger Britain Together project

Our research paper examines the important role that PSHE plays, as part of a multi-disciplinary approach to tackling extremism. As well as highlighting new research in this area, the paper also makes links with best pedagogical practices, including:

  • Integration of learning within a whole-school approach
  • Promotion of community cohesion in a classroom setting
  • Development of relevant skills, attributes and knowledge
  • Implementation of Effective teaching strategies

We hope it helps you to feel more confident in appropriately addressing radicalisation and extremism in the PSHE education classroom.
