Writing your RSE policy: guidance from the PSHE Association
Guidance for drafting or reviewing your school's RSE policy
All schools in England should have an up to date relationships and sex education (RSE) policy and this is a statutory obligation for all maintained schools. This document will help schools to draft this policy or to review their existing policy. It should be read alongside the Secretary of State’s 2000 guidance on SRE and our supplementary SRE guidance as well as the new statutory guidance for Relationships Education, Relationships and Sex Education and Health Education (2019) . We also strongly recommend that colleagues familiarise themselves with the resources on the Sex Education Forum website which provides comprehensive information and guidance for schools on RSE.
