FAQs about our new health education lesson plans

We recently launched new ‘Health Education: food choices, physical activity & balanced lifestyles lesson plans and guidance’ for KS1-4.

The lessons — available exclusively to members of the association — cover all aspects of healthy food choices and physical activity included in the PSHE Education Programme of Study and the Department for Education’s statutory RSHE guidance.

We’ve included some details below to help answer any questions you might have about these new lessons.

What’s included?

  • 2 x KS1 lessons; 5 x KS2 lessons; 2 x KS3 lessons; and 2 x KS4 lessons
  • PDF and Classroom-ready PowerPoint versions of all lesson plans
  • Accompanying resources for the lesson activities
  • Comprehensive teacher guidance document

Can anyone download/use the lessons?

All these materials are available exclusively to PSHE Association members. Become a member today for access to this and and our full range of resources, CPD and support.

How will these lessons help me to meet statutory RSHE requirements?

The lessons have been designed to address all the relevant learning opportunities for food and exercise choices included in our Programme of Study and the relevant content outlined in the Department for Education’s statutory RSHE guidance.

The teacher guidance includes a table mapping where the lesson plans address this content in each key stage.

Are other lessons available to help me cover other aspects of health education, including mental health, sleep, and dental health?

We’ve got you covered!

Each of these packs includes PDF and classroom-ready versions of the lesson plans plus teacher guidance to help you deliver these topics safely and effectively.

See our Programme Builders for more resource ideas to help you cover Health Education content.
