This workshop explores the key principles of best practice for effective teaching and learning in primary PSHE education. It will provide confidence-building, practical tips and guidance for delivering high quality and engaging PSHE education lessons and will include strategies to establish a safe learning environment, plan an effective and stimulating lesson and use effective techniques to assess pupils’ learning and demonstrate progress.

Get ready for statutory relationships education

This workshop explores the new DfE statutory requirements and guidance for Relationships Education and considers practical ways to ensure that Relationships Education (and Sex Education), are an integral part of planned PSHE provision. There will be the opportunity to focus on key areas such as curriculum organization, policy development, classroom practice and working with parents to ensure that the delivery of Relationships Education is appropriate to the needs of pupils.

Get ready for statutory health education — covering physical and mental health and wellbeing

This workshop explores the new DfE statutory requirements and guidance for Health Education and its implications for whole school PSHE provision. It will focus on best practice principles in planning and preparing to teach about physical health and mental wellbeing as well as the key role that PSHE education plays in preventative and protective learning. There will be the opportunity to explore the newly redeveloped PSHE Association mental health guidance and lesson plans for KS 1 and KS 2 and to consider ways in which they can support effective practice.

Get ready for statutory relationships and sex education

This practical workshop provides an opportunity to explore the new DfE statutory guidance for Relationships and Sex Education (RSE) and to review current provision in light of the new requirements. There will be the opportunity to focus on key areas such as curriculum organisation, policy development, classroom practice and working with parents/external organisations to ensure that the delivery of RSE is appropriate to the needs of your students.

Get ready for statutory health education — covering physical and mental health and wellbeing

This workshop explores the new DfE statutory guidance for secondary Health Education and its implications for PSHE provision. It will focus on planning safe and effective learning, as well as practical ideas for teaching about mental health and emotional wellbeing with confidence. There will be the opportunity to explore the newly redeveloped PSHE Association mental health guidance and lesson plans for KS 3 and KS 4 and to consider ways in which they can support effective practice.

 


Price guide:

Prices for a half day standard session (from the options above) start from £975.00 plus travel/ accommodation costs as applicable. This is a cost-effective solution for school groups as the fee can be shared between schools attending.

Schools signing up for these sessions must all be PSHE Association members as the training uses member resources which are only accessible via a current membership. The benefits of membership also include access to phone or email support from subject specialists.

If all schools attending do not have current membership, we can easily include the £120 school membership fee with the cost of the training when invoicing.

 


Venue:

Our Subject Specialist will come to your school to run the training session. We ask you to provide a suitable room for teachers to sit in groups at tables, IT facilities, large sheets of paper and pens for group work, a limited amount of copying of resources for the day and any refreshments required for delegates.
