Julie McCann

Julie holds a BA (Hons) in Criminal Justice and Sociology, PGCE and MSc in Education and has taught in the UK and abroad. Within Liverpool she has been a class teacher, curriculum leader, senior leader and Advanced Skills Teacher in PSHE education. She is also qualified as a national trainer with SAPERE enabling her to train colleagues in Philosophy for Children.

In July 2011 Julie received the ‘Citizenship Magazine’ Award for Outstanding PSHE teacher in recognition of her work in the wider community, challenging prejudice and using innovative teaching methods to promote mental, emotional and physical wellbeing. Julie has been part of School Improvement Liverpool’s Healthy Schools Team since 2012 and has developed successful training and support in all areas of PSHE education for primary, secondary and special school colleagues.

She cares passionately about the health and wellbeing of children and young people, and strives to support colleagues in promoting this at all times.
